Ask Abbie - Your Questions Answered
If you have a question for our pedicure and nail art
professionals, please email us at abbie@footcandy.com.
Q: When getting a manicure/pedicure does the polish and
designs have to match?
A: Absolutely not! Keep in mind that your pedicure will
outlast your manicure so try to select a polish
and design that you won’t tire of.
Q: What can I use instead of toe separators or cotton when
polishing my toenails?
A: I use this in my salon all the time. Take paper towel
and fold it in half on an angle, roll and twist. Place the
paper towel between the toes in an over under pattern.
Q: How do I keep my cuticles under control between
pedicures?
A: A quick and easy method is to gently push back cuticles
with a towel after a shower or bath. Doing this frequently will
keep those cuticles under control!
Q: What do I need to paint nail art?
A: Depending on the designs you choose, there are several
different products that I use in my salon. You
can find any of these products at your local arts and crafts store. It’s inexpensive and it’s easy! The first item you will
need is a brush. There are two that I cannot live without.
A small detailer and a striper brush. Next, you’ll need
water-based acrylic paint and your favorite polishes. You can find
out how to create different designs on my "How to..."
section at footcandy.com.
Q: How do I get rid of those ugly yellow stains on my
toenails?
A: Don’t have time to soak? Quick fix. Use a
semi fine buffing block (you can find this at any drugstore). Remove polish and lightly buff the yellow stains and wipe
nails with polish remover. Make sure you always use a base
coat before applying any polish. This will reduce the
staining.
